Introduction The following rules are an attempt to describe the morphophonemic changes in the verb stems and noun stems of Suruí. Both verbs and possessed nouns seem to follow the same pattern of changes. Unless otherwise specified, the changes are made at the same point of articulation The changes shown for the 2nd person plural are the same for the 1st person plural exclusive, which is not mentioned in the rules. The 1st person plural referred to in the rules is the 1st person plural inclusive.
