Description:
From introduction: "The simple uninflected verb in Kaiwá may be described as non-future and this is a fairly accurate observation. However the corollary to this statement, namely that verbs occurring with future tense markers refer to the future with regard to speech event time, DOES NOT FOLLOW. The correct interpretation of the time signalled by a verb with either a future or a past tense marker depends on the TIME SETTING of the speech act in which it occurs."
